Another chance to flex my tried-and-tested Attenborough voice
As I've said in the past, I've done a decent amount of work with ITV and daytime television shows over the years, and it's always a pleasure to use my voiceover for the purposes of entertaining, as well as just on commercials and explainer videos. ITV got it touch and told me they'd heard I did a good David Attenborough impression and they asked if I would like to narrate the weird and wonderful animals inhabiting their Love Island show. I jumped at the chance and had great fun with it. I will say that the version that went on air was perfect — and was ALL my voice — but that the version on their YouTube channel that I've shared cuts out halfway through, with their guide track being heard instead. Strange!
For those of you who don't know anything about the ITV show Love Island, don't worry, I'm here, along with my David Attenborough impression, to tell you a little more about it. Love Island is one of the strangest TV show ideas in the world, but people seem to love it: there are a bunch of contestants on an island trying to find love. If they can't couple up, then they are removed from the competition. There are hormones flying everywhere, which makes it the perfect subject for some humourous Attenborough parody!
If you're working on a funny mockumentary-style project like this one I helped Good Morning Britain put together, then please don't hesitate to get in touch and to tell me more about your project. I don't use my Attenborough voice for every brand or project that asks me, but if the script is right and I think it'll be fun, I'll be more than happy to work with you. If you're looking for a voiceover artist like me but you aren't sure if my voice is the perfect fit, don't worry, as I'll be more than happy to provide a free voiceover sample from your script.
